DOWNTOWN

The lumber industry attracted many early settlers to the Ukiah Valley, and a stroll through downtown Ukiah boasts a number of buildings – many made of locally harvested redwood – that were erected to support local mill workers and loggers. Ukiah still retains that yesteryear charm, balanced with the legacies of the back-to-the-land movement, creative galleries and boutiques, and new classic culinary hot spots. Downtown Ukiah also hosts a number of local events, from classic car shows to seasonal family celebrations, including a weekly farmer’s market. Here’s a link to the events calendar.
