Art Walk Ukiah on Friday, June 5th @ 5-8 PM

Come out and support local artists and take a stroll through Downtown Ukiah at Art Walk on Friday, June 5th from 5-8 PM. This art-centric community event happens on the first Friday of every month. Art Walk is a free, family-friendly event that spans through Downtown Ukiah, just follow the attached map. Participating venues will include:

+Luxe Places International Realty at 601 S. State St. – Local legend Wayne Knight’s work will be displayed for all to enjoy. His paintings often sport broad, deep fields of color, with the subject situated in the center of the painting, gazing directly out at the viewer. This show is a tribute to Knight who passed away in 2009. Friday, June 5th @ 5-8 PM.

+The Grace Hudson Museum at 431 S. Main St. – The museum is hosting a celebratory reception for “Look Again: Portraits of Daring Women,” featuring the woodblock and collage work of Julie Lapping Rivera; along with the work of 15 Mendocino County artists depicting inspirational women. Friday, June 5th @ 5-8 PM.

+The Lot on Main at 200 N. Main St. – Support local artisans and shop the monthly market and spring fair. Enjoy live music by Clay Hawkin’s band @hill.shaker. Mendocino College will host a Pop-Up Gallery featuring students Fur, Tone Dogg, Trinity Thurner, and the Figure Drawing class; along with a Makerspace with the Mendocino College Textiles Club. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Friday, June 5th @ 5-8 PM.

+MEDIUM Art Center at 110 S. School St. – MEDIUM will celebrate its fifth anniversary with “There Will Be Cake,” a group exhibition featuring artwork created by the organization’s board of directors and celebrating the people behind-the-scenes. Friday, June 5th @ 5-8 PM.

+Corner Gallery and Art Center Ukiah at 201 S. State St. – Featuring Ken Edwards and Ross Hollowell, bringing new dimensions to natural and found objects. On the Young Artist Wall is Trinity Thurner’s oil paintings; and on the MCAA Pony Wall are Karen Falconer, Clare Jones, Joe Crookednose, and Ursula Partch. Music by Charlie Seltzer with an interlude by Bhavvy Ducharme. Art Center Ukiah is partnering with Mendo Pride to increase awareness and shares the theme “We All Belong.” Friday, June 5th @ 5-8 PM.

+Ukiah Branch Library at 105 N. Main St. – The library will feature My Tong’s ceramic show “Art in the Anthropocene Age,” accompanied by the music of Equinox. The Ukiah Valley Friends of the Library will host a robust book/DVD/CD sale. Visitors can sit down for a free, all-ages air dry ceramic craft at this family-friendly event. Friday, June 5th @ 5-7 PM.

+Bona Marketplace at 116 W. Standley St. – Bona will host “Out of the Ordinary,” new works by textile artist, Jeanne Kennedy, featuring Dimensional Compositions. With live music by Jerry Rubio. Light refreshments will be served. Friday, June 5th @ 5-8 PM.

Those 21+ can continue the party and enjoy an after-hours stop at the Ukiah Brewing Company or Forest Club.
