ART WALK UKIAH
William Shi: Observer of Nature
Friday, September 6, 2024, from 5 to 7 PM
The Ukiah Branch Library staff invites the community to join us for Art Walk Ukiah on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. Come see the work of young artist William Shi and his collection of Chinese paintings of ink and watercolor on rice paper, along with pastels and oil paintings.
From the time he was 4-years old, Shi has been obsessed with two things: observing animals and creating art. His favorite pets are his chickens which he observes closely to understand their movements and behavior. With each brush stroke, he aims to capture the raw beauty and essence of chickens. And through his art, he hopes to share his fascination with animals and the joy they bring to his life.
The Branch will host a live Chinese painting demonstration by Shi, accompanied by live music and an in-person hands-on creative arts program. Enjoy a book sale by the Ukiah Valley Friends of the Library as you browse the Art Walk.
This exhibit is free to the public, open to all ages, and sponsored by the Ukiah Valley Friends of the Library and Mendocino County Library.
