St. Mary of the Angels Catholic School is excited to invite the community to Race for Roses, a newly reimagined spring fundraiser formerly known as It’s a She Thing. The event will take place on Friday, May 1, from 5 to 10 p.m. at Barra of Mendocino Winery.
Hosted by the lady teachers and staff of St. Mary’s, Race for Roses promises an evening of Southern charm, friendship, and fun, all in support of St. Mary’s School. Guests can look forward to Champagne Mint Juleps, wine, dinner, music, dessert auction, and exciting bidding opportunities in a festive Kentucky Derby-inspired setting.
The event’s refreshed name and branding bring a new energy to a longtime favorite while continuing the tradition of gathering women in the community for a meaningful and memorable night out.
“Race for Roses is a fun new twist on an event that so many women have enjoyed over the years,” said Kenzie White, teacher and event organizer. “We wanted to give it a fresh feel while keeping the heart of the evening the same — a chance for women to come together, have fun, and support St. Mary’s School.”
Guests are encouraged to wear their best Derby-inspired attire and bring friends for a lively evening benefiting the students and programs of St. Mary’s School.
Tickets are $45 presale, $50 at the door, or $400 for a table of 8, which includes an appetizer.
Race for Roses is one of several community-centered fundraising events that help support the mission of St. Mary of the Angels Catholic School and the educational experience it provides for students and families in Ukiah and beyond.
