Ukiah is also home to award-winning pioneers of the microbrew world. The original Ukiah Brewing Company, no longer in operation, was the nation’s first certified organic brewpub/restaurant in 2001. Mendocino Brewing Co., also located in Ukiah, opened the first post-prohibition brewpub in California, in 1983.
